Refund and Cancellation Policy
Introduction
The Refund and Cancellation Policy of Ballarat North Neighbourhood House (BNNH) is designed to provide clarity and transparency regarding the cancellation of activities and the process for requesting refunds.
Purpose
This policy ensures that all participants are aware of their rights and responsibilities, and it helps maintain the smooth operation of our programs.
Cancellation Policy
Ballarat North Neighbourhood House (BNNH) reserves the right to cancel activities if the minimum number of participants is not met before the activity start date. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.
If an activity is postponed due to the teacher's illness or unforeseen circumstances, participants will be notified of the new date. If the rescheduled date is unsuitable, participants may request a refund.
Breach of Terms and Conditions Cancellation
BNNH reserves the right to cancel a participant's booking if they do not adhere to the Terms and Conditions of the organisation. In such cases, a partial refund may be considered. Any outstanding payments will still be required.
Refund Policy
Refunds are not automatic and must be requested in writing to the Manager.
Considerations for issuing a refund include:
Refunds are processed only after the payment has cleared through the bank.
Students who are excluded, suspended, or expelled under a BNNH policy are not eligible for a refund, except where required by law.
If a participant withdraws from an activity before reaching the midway point (either halfway through unit completion or the course duration, whichever comes first), they may receive a refund of up to 50% of the total fee.
No refunds are issued if a participant withdraws after the midway point of the activity.
Refunds are generally not provided after the course has started, except in exceptional circumstances such as bereavement, hospitalisation, or unexpected caregiving responsibilities. Requests for special consideration must be made in writing.
Attendance in class will not be considered when evaluating refund requests.
Complaints
We have procedures in place to handle refund-related complaints and concerns. Individuals can contact the manager to resolve any issues.
Regular Review
This policy is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains relevant and compliant with current laws and best practices.
