Introduction
Ballarat North Neighbourhood house is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone.
Purpose
The purpose of this Terms and Conditions document is to outline key rules, responsibilities and guidelines that staff and visitors must agree to when accessing Ballarat North Neighbourhood House activities and services.
Code of Conduct
To provide a safe and welcoming environment for staff, participants and visitors at Ballarat North Neighbourhood House (BNNH) everyone is required to:
Always treat each other with respect and care.
Refrain from anti-social behaviour, including harassment, offensive or threatening language, making threats or disrespecting the identity, culture or traditions of community members.
Not engage in behaviour or language that offends, insults, humiliates, or intimidates another person or group based on race, ethnic origin, gender, age, disability, sexuality, or class, or is disruptive in any way.
Child Safety
We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all children, including culturally safe experiences of First Nations children. This means:
All staff and volunteers must adhere to our Child Safe policy.
Staff, volunteers and visitors are required to report any child safety concerns to a staff member immediately.
Photographs, Recordings, Work Product, and Testimonial Consents
BNNH occasionally uses photographs, recordings, work products, and testimonials to promote our activities. We adhere to the Privacy Act 1998 guidelines.
By providing consent on the BNNH Media Consent Form, you agree to your images, work products, and testimonials being used in marketing and promotion, including print/social media, websites, and promotional materials. You will not take legal action or seeking payment against BNNH for these uses.
You can withdraw your consent at any time before publication by writing to the BNNH Manager.
Physical Activity
As a participant in activities involving physical movement (e.g., Yoga, Walking Groups) you:
Acknowledge the risks involved and voluntarily accept them.
Declare that you are physically capable of participating and will seek medical advice if needed.
Take responsibility for your own safety and release BNNH from any claims related to loss, damage, or personal injury.
Inform the activity organiser of any injuries or issues that may affect your participation.
BNNH will work to ensure these activities are accessible to all community members wishing to participate. Participants are encouraged to discuss any accessibility related needs and concerns with staff to assist us to improve accessibility and inclusion and staff are required to actively respond to such information with respect, care and transparency.
Fees and Enrolment
BNNH aims to keep fees minimal to ensure accessibility and all fees are utilised to increase and improve our services to the community. You understand that:
Some activities are pay-as-you-go, while others require payment before the activity starts.
Payment can be made in instalments or waived in cases of financial hardship with manager approval.
Registration is confirmed upon completion of the registration form and payment. If a place is not available, you will be placed on a waiting list.

Information provided by BNNH is a guide to assist your participation in our activities. We reserve the right to make changes at any time.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
BNNH reserves the right to cancel activities if the minimum number of participants is not met. A full refund, minus any online booking fees not collected by BNNH, will be given in this instance.
Refunds are not automatic and must be applied for in writing to the Manager. Refunds are subject to specific conditions and approval.
Privacy Policy
BNNH respects your right to privacy and handles your information according to privacy laws and our Privacy Policy.
Third Party Reporting
BNNH may need to provide program data to government departments, funding partners, and referral agencies. If a third party is funding a course/activity, we may share information with them within the requirements of privacy laws.
